Electron-molecule
collisions initiate and drive many chemical reactions relevant in radiation and
environmental sciences as well as in plasma processes and many other areas of
application (such as novel light sources for research and everyday lighting).
Moreover, the life sciences are a rapidly advancing field where the important
role of electron-driven reactions is only now beginning to be recognized, for
instance strand-breaking in DNA caused by the interaction of electrons at
energies significantly below the ionization threshold. On the other hand, the
fundamental physics and chemistry of the underlying processes is far from
understanding. While a full scale theoretical treatment of the electron-molecule
interaction is presently still not possible for polyatomic molecules the
situation becomes significantly more complex if the molecule under consideration
is coupled to an environment.
The
first International Symposium on Low Energy Electron-Molecule Interactions LEEMI
2001 took place at Going (Tirol, Austria).
This
symposium – LEEMI 2002 will be similar to the previous one. It has the
objective of summarizing the state of the art and identifying the most promising
scientific challenges for the investigation of processes initiated and driven by
electron-induced mechanisms with particular emphasis in the low energy regime
involving dissociative electron attachment (DEA) processes.
Abstracts Conference Proceedings Related Conference Visas Medical Insurance Accommodation Method of Payment
Participants
are invited to submit abstracts of all contributed papers to be presented at the
Symposium. Abstracts, prepared in Word should be submitted electronically as
email attachment to pezler@ap.siedlce.pl
.
Abstracts should be written in English and not exceed 4 pages for the invited papers and 1 page for posters. The page must be restricted to 15 cm width and 24 cm height, leaving all margins 3 cm. The abstract must include a title, names of all authors and their affiliations.
Detailed rules for the preparation of abstracts - a simple example (WORD file).
The book of abstracts will be distributed to participants at the conference registration desk.
The
deadline for submission of abstracts is May 15th.
All
invited papers will be published in the special issue of Nukleonika. (Try
not to exceed 10-15 pages) The detailed requirement of the Editor can be find at the web page http://www.ichtj.waw.pl
(click on Publications then Nukleonika).
All papers should be presented not later than at the Symposium registration desk
or send by mail to:

The
2nd Conference on Elementary Processes in Atomic Systems CEPAS'2002
organized by Technical University of Gdansk will be held from September 2nd
to September 6th, 2002 in Gdansk. For more information visit http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/cepas
.
Please
inform us if you are going to take a part in CEPAS and we will tell you how to
get to Gdansk.
For a number of countries, a visa may be
needed. Please, check with your travel agent or the nearest Polish Consulate.
The Letters of Invitation is intended as an aid to obtain visa, so upon request
it will be provided.
Visitors
are not covered by Polish health insurance plans and the conference organizers
take no responsibility for any medical cost incurred by participants or
accompanying persons. It is recommended therefore that participants take out
medical insurance to cover possible health care, dental and ambulance services.
The
number of rooms in Chlewiska is limited and it is possible that some
participants will be accommodated in Siedlce. The distance is about 15 km and
transportation will be provided.
The
cost of the Symposium paid by all participants and accompanying persons is 170
Euro (or 600 PLN) before
May 15th and 200
Euro (700 PLN) after
May 15th. It covers
everything: accommodation, boarding and social program.
Payment
should be made in Polish zlotys (PLN) or in Euro. It only should be made by bank
transfer. Organizers will not accept any charges resulting from money transfer.
